The SAFe® Architect (ARCH) acts as a technical facilitator for agile development teams. As a servant leader, he manages technical projects in agile teams and enables business goals to be achieved by using the right business architecture.
This course is aimed at technical managers who want to deepen their understanding of the roles of system, solution and enterprise architects in Lean-Agile companies. The course is also suitable for people who are looking for a more comprehensive insight into the importance of architecture for continuous value creation processes and want to understand how architects can play an active role in a Lean-Agile organization.

- Applying SAFe principles to find the right balance between functionality, cost, risk and sustainability
- Ensuring the continuous integration, implementation and deployment of design components in small units
- Communicating the solution context and the solution intention to agile teams
- Establish general architectural guidelines while maintaining flexibility for emerging technologies
- Early development of the architectural direction to support successful deliveries
- Guide architectural decisions, assist with risk management and problem resolution, participate in management reviews and problem resolution during the implementation of the program increment
- Definition, implementation and monitoring of quality practices, including continuous integration (CI/CD) and DevOps
- Guarantee that technology decisions within an Agile Release Train (ART) work smoothly across solution components

- Exam preparation takes place through participation in the course and through the independent processing of additional learning content from Scaled Agile. Further exam preparation is possible on request.
- Participants can take the exam after completing the SAFe Agilist course on the SAFe Community Platform.
- The exam is passed if 35 answers are correct (77%).
- The examination language is English.
- The course materials are an integral part of the course and the exam and are available for download on the SAFe Community platform.
- The study guide describes the tasks and all resources related to the exam. This includes a detailed reading list, which must also be completed for the exam.
- A practice test conveys the exam format and is structured in exactly the same way as the certification exam. In other words, it has the same number of questions, the same level of difficulty and the same length of time.
- The practice test can be taken as often as required and free of charge to prepare for the exam.
- Important: The practical test is not the examination for certification and does not guarantee successful completion of the certification examination.
- The first examination attempt is already included in the course if the examination is taken within 30 days of the end of the course.
- Each retry costs $50.
- The first repeat attempt can be made immediately after the first attempt.
- The second repeat attempt requires a waiting period of 10 days.
- The third repeat attempt requires a 30-day waiting period.
